NASA World Wind looks pretty darn cool! I can't actually tell yet, as it hasn't been released for OSX or linux yet, but I suspect it's just a matter of time. Heck, I might even try my hand at a basic app for it....

What is it you ask? It's an interface to a NASA computer that is serving up a full satellite map of the globe that is zoomable from full globe right down to seeing individual buildings. Amazing to think of.
